Description
The rosary is used in the Roman Catholic Church as form of devotion in which five sets of ten Hail Marys (five decades) are repeated. During each decade, which is preceded by an Our Father and followed by a Glory Be, thought is given to one of the 4 mysteries: Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and Luminous. The origin of the name comes from the Latin rosarium meaning ‘rose garden.’ – Saint Benedict is best-known for penning the Benedictine Rule whose guiding principals are ‘Pray and work.’ Patron of farmers and Europe, his feast day is July 11th.
